flash foreward to Spring

The Best of the Spring 2012 RTW Runways:
I have picked my four favorite looks from my five favorite
runway shows of the Spring 2012 season.

Miuccia Prada for Prada:

Miuccia wanted her models to embody the word 'Sweet' as her clothes this season are a blend of 1950's extremely girly flair mixed with iconic imagery of cars and flower patterns. I chose this collection since it brings a pop of fun to the runways and I think everyone just wants to wear lots of color and pattern once the sunny days arrive.

Haider Ackermann:

Once again, Ackermann designs an almost perfect collection. I find his sense of color and shape to be extraordinary and I honestly think he is one of the best designers if not the best out there on the runways today. His Jewel toned fabrics excite my soul!

Pheobe Philo for Celine:

I've always been a fan of Celine, although it is clearly not my everyday style. Celine is known for very simple lines and perfect construction. This season Pheobe went a little out of the Celine comfort zone, adding more structure to her looks and making some of them even architectural. [Although I didn't include those images above] she has defintitely done a wonderful job although it is nothing out of the ordinary.

Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen:

After Alexander's untimely death in 2009 I wondered if it would ever be possible for his Fashion House to have the same strangely beautiful essence. Well, it most certainly does and Sarah Burton is doing a wonderful job at keeping that beauty alive. I was of course blown away by this Spring McQueen collection. It was inspired by the fantastical majesty of the the underwater world. A theme that wove itself through many designer's collections this year, however McQueen and Givenchy were the only fashion houses that did it with such superb creativity, although in such different ways.

Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy:

Givenchy became one of my ultimate favorite Fashion Houses once Riccardo Tisci joined in 2005. His looks are always perfectly designed and his last few collections have made me speechless. This one was not a perfect home run for me but his idea behind the collection was splendid and these pale pink looks above are to die for. Tisci went for the 'Mermaid Siren meets Surfer' for this latest collection with his color palate stemming from a sunset and then going down to the sparkling diamond surface of the water and then down to the underwater world, right where McQueen picked up in his collection.

I hope you enjoyed this taste of the Spring 2012 runways!
I missed being so inspired by fashion and I'm glad I took some time out to re-indulge myself in a world that has given me such happiness.
