Holiday Wishlist 2.

Down to Basics:

Last wishlist/gift guide was more of an exotic theme and now I have chosen some of my favorite basic pieces.
Although still quite steep in the range of things, these items just scream 'wear me'.

Item 1:

'This is my Favorite t-shirt" by Wildfox.
$92

I would wear this tied up with my ripped up vintage Levi's and leopard print loafers [i have yet to own].

Item 2:

Flat Clutch by Clare Vivier available at Roseark
$140

This yummy tan clutch is the perfect basic for running out to the store or just plain looking cute.

Item 3:

Ayla Ankle Boot by Theyskens' Theory available at Barneys NY
Was $425.00
NOW $169.00 [Bargain].

Ah, these booties are just divine. Pair it with black skinnies and a large oversize fur coat and winter can certainly be my friend again.

Item 4:

Thank You Bag by Cast of Vices available at Acrimony
$273

We all know those ever present plastic 'Thank You' bags, well now we can own one in LEATHER! Too good my friends, this is just too good.

New Beginnings

Just started my new internship at The Editor at Large.
We are an interior design publication and database for the entire interior design community.
It is so wonderful to get all these amazing opportunities.

Hoping to learn a lot about this industry and gain beneficial insight into what I really want to do in life.

Check us out here.

Holiday Wishlist.

Exotic Bazaar:

Item 1.

Lucia Safari Puma available at Cloak and Dagger

$180.00 [lush]

Because you can never have enough sunnies. I would wear these in the winter and the summer and everyday would be sunny all day everyday!

Item 2.

Anndra Neen Cone Bangle available at Roseark

$545.00 [steep]

The most impressive bangle I've seen in a long while. Potential risk of harming others while wearing but that is a risk I am willing to take.

Item 3.

Megan Resin Clutch by Malini Murjani available at Vivre

$325.00 [madness]

Goodness me. This clutch is to die for. I would just sit in on my dresser and stare at it. That is all.

Item 4.

Red Azillal Berber Rug available at Beldi

$850.00 [ geesh].

For the start of my Bohemian home decor. This rug is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!

Item 5.

Quoddy Leopard Calf Hair Ring Boots available at JCrew.

$550 [yikes].

I would wear these as slippers and oh boy would my feet be cosy and boy oh boy would I never leave the house if I was wearing these!

---

I could keep the list on rolling but I will stop here.

More to come.

Magic Windows.

As the cold air flows freely in the city the twinkle lights get turned on the cashmere layers come out. One of my favorite things about this time of year in the city are the beautiful window displays that stores put out to showcase their holiday goods. I went window shopping this past week and couldn't help but be awed at the magic of the displays. Bergdorf Goodman did such a phenomenal job and I have to share some of the windows below.

Such wonder in these windows. As I stood in front of them, I went on to wish that my world could look as delightful as those artful panoramas.

flash foreward to Spring

The Best of the Spring 2012 RTW Runways:
I have picked my four favorite looks from my five favorite
runway shows of the Spring 2012 season.

Miuccia Prada for Prada:

Miuccia wanted her models to embody the word 'Sweet' as her clothes this season are a blend of 1950's extremely girly flair mixed with iconic imagery of cars and flower patterns. I chose this collection since it brings a pop of fun to the runways and I think everyone just wants to wear lots of color and pattern once the sunny days arrive.

Haider Ackermann:

Once again, Ackermann designs an almost perfect collection. I find his sense of color and shape to be extraordinary and I honestly think he is one of the best designers if not the best out there on the runways today. His Jewel toned fabrics excite my soul!

Pheobe Philo for Celine:

I've always been a fan of Celine, although it is clearly not my everyday style. Celine is known for very simple lines and perfect construction. This season Pheobe went a little out of the Celine comfort zone, adding more structure to her looks and making some of them even architectural. [Although I didn't include those images above] she has defintitely done a wonderful job although it is nothing out of the ordinary.

Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen:

After Alexander's untimely death in 2009 I wondered if it would ever be possible for his Fashion House to have the same strangely beautiful essence. Well, it most certainly does and Sarah Burton is doing a wonderful job at keeping that beauty alive. I was of course blown away by this Spring McQueen collection. It was inspired by the fantastical majesty of the the underwater world. A theme that wove itself through many designer's collections this year, however McQueen and Givenchy were the only fashion houses that did it with such superb creativity, although in such different ways.

Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy:

Givenchy became one of my ultimate favorite Fashion Houses once Riccardo Tisci joined in 2005. His looks are always perfectly designed and his last few collections have made me speechless. This one was not a perfect home run for me but his idea behind the collection was splendid and these pale pink looks above are to die for. Tisci went for the 'Mermaid Siren meets Surfer' for this latest collection with his color palate stemming from a sunset and then going down to the sparkling diamond surface of the water and then down to the underwater world, right where McQueen picked up in his collection.

I hope you enjoyed this taste of the Spring 2012 runways!
I missed being so inspired by fashion and I'm glad I took some time out to re-indulge myself in a world that has given me such happiness.

Tears and fashion

The Best of the Fall RTW Runway 2011:

Haider Ackermann wins my vote!

[by far my favorite look of the fall]

Having been thrown into the world of interiors and product through the magazine I have found myself becoming more distant to the world of fashion. A world that has always enticed me and brought me to tears out of sheer delight and creativity.

I need to remind myself that I can be immersed in both industries at the same time!
That being said, I wanted to share my a few of my favorite looks from Haider Ackermann's fall collection. It serves as true inspiration and when watching the show on style.com I found myself moved to tears, just as the rest of the audience was with this outstanding collection.

Moving up

Today I got given a new desk at work. Everyone is switching offices it seems and so me and another intern got the the two desks at the front of the office. We were very fond and used to our old placements but new change is always good.

My old placement (as featured in Lonny):

there is a field

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing

and rightdoing there is a field.

I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass

the world is too full to talk about.

[rumi]

I feel his words deep within, everything he wrote my soul already knows. Around and within I connect to his poetry and always tears well up since undoubtedly my soul is already flying.
